The Cycles of Nature

Origin

Wonders of the Year establishes the intersection of tradition and innovation, blending ancient wisdom with modern sensibilities. Rooted in the timeless rhythms of nature, our approach offers a refreshing alternative to conventional moments of celebration.

The Wheel

Around 2,800 years ago, the Wheel of the Year served as a sacred calendar, guiding people through cycles of celebration, preparation, and rest. First understood intuitively and later depicted visually, it took the form of a circle marked by four major festivals: the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes, and the Summer and Winter Solstices.

In our modern interpretation, the Wheel is imagined in two halves. As rendered in our signature mark, it is divided at the Equinoxes where light and dark are balanced to distinguish the light and shadowed halves of the year, with each half notched at its peak: the Solstices.

Future

Returning to the simplicity and purity of these natural celebrations honors the wisdom of our ancestors and highlights the enduring power of the earth. In doing so, we reconnect with the world around us and awaken a sense of expansive wonder.
